We met at Japes and left in time to arrive at the top of Mount Pleasant (home of the Hartung-Bootyroyd observatory) in time for sunset. While dusk progressed we opened the dome and brought the telescope and instrumentation to life.

Our tour of the sky included the spring constellations, and our telescope exploration focused on the planets Venus and Saturn (and its moons), our own Moon, the globular cluster of stars M3, a dying star in Gemini, the great star nursery in Orion, and some multiple stars.

The sky conditions were good, but the bright moon kept us from exploring very faint objects. We returned to Japes around 10:30 p.m.
