TIPSaturday, 10 March: TeleFest at Mad River Glen this day and the next. Trip leaving Friday night, returning Sunday night, staying in Glen Falls Friday night and camping on Saturday. Contact Leslie so that she can gauge interest.

TIPSaturday-Sunday, 10-11 March: Adirondack TBD, doing something winter-ish in the mountains before spring. Contact Rayko to get involved.

TIPSunday, 11 March: Pool session in Helen Newman for Kayak skills practice. Contact Dan Davis to reserve a slot, as there will be a limit on participants.

TIPTuesday, 13 March: Identifying March Birds on the Cornell Campus, by internationally known ornithologist Steve Kress.

TIP Saturday, 17 March: Skiing at Mount Tremblant in Quebec through Monday with Nick Haupt. Camping or cheap hotel room lodging, depending on group consensus and conditions. Email for information or to get involved.

TIP MattStillerman will be going ice skating at the rink in Lansing from 7-9 p.m. TIP Rayko will lead Telemark skiing at Greek Peak departing Japes at 10 a.m., cars neededTIP David will be leading X-C skiing at the golf course , meet at Japes at 2 p.m.

TIP ALL OF FALL BREAK: Backpacking trip in the Great Smoky Mountains with Sourish and Maxim. Contact for more information -- more cars needed to accomodate more participants. TIP KyleStory (kts8) invites self-sufficient non-beginner climbers to join a fall break trip to the Red River Gorge in Kentucky over break. Email for more information. TIP Ben and Peggy will be going caving in Kentucky and then joining the climbing trip (they are in different ends of Kentucky). TIP DonBarry? will be joining the Red River Gorge climbers for the latter half of the week, probably leaving Wednesday, and is willing to accomodate more introductory level people. Camping at Miguel's Pizza (a local climber's mecca) for four nights. Contact for more info.

TIPFriday, 20 April and Saturday, 21 April OUR SPRING GEAR SALE AND OPEN HOUSE: From 4-8 p.m. on Friday and again from 10-1 p.m. on Saturday, bring any old gear you'd like to sell and browse some of our retired and well-loved junque -- also enjoy complimentary canoeing and kayaking (weather permitting) on Beebe Lake, and warmth and tall tales and hot beverages inside our Japes Lodge. We'll take a 20% cut of gear that you sell, but it's all on the honor system. See you there!

TIPTuesday, 07 October Post-meeting Presentation Mark Wysocki, a New York State Climatologist, of the Northease Regional Climate Center has generously agreed to give a presentation on Tuesday the 7th about our region's weather and New York State climate. Mark Wysocki is a senior lecturer in meteorology of the Earth and Atmospheric Science Dept, so don't miss this!
