Minutes for October 25, 2005

Announcements

• Gear night with Beth 5:30-6:30PM.
• Halloween camping at COC Cabin, Hammond Hill State Forest with Don (don@isc.astro.cornell.edu).
• Submit a design for the COC T-shirt contest! Contact Leslie (lackerman@alternatives.org).
• Public lands are open for hunting through December! Wear bright clothing and don't make deer-like noises.
• Post-meeting bouldering and tubbing at Don's.
• Weekly unicycling with FLOW Mondays at 6PM.
• Ice climbing season begins -- in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Check out http://www.neice.com/ for more info.
• Snow's coming in -- plenty of it on top of Catskill and Adirondack mountains.
• Autumn foliage approaching peak in Ithaca area.

Trips Past

• Leslie, David, Blasej, Aaron, Rayko, and Andre climbed in the Dacks.
• Luke was in Olympic National Park, Washington state.
• Brendan swam in the Potomac.
• Ari and Jason did Wittenberg, Cornell, and Slide in the Catskills.
• Kara was at Ludlowville Falls and reports they are really churning.
• Simeon was hiking in Swiss Alps with Matt and Jo Steven.

Trips Planned

• Simeon and Kara will conduct a caving survey in Schoharie County and are looking for more participants. You will need some previous experience in caving and some training in survey techniques. Contact Simeon (simeon@cs.cornell.edu) or Kara (klp37@cornell.edu) for training opportunities.
• Jason (jm349@cornell.edu) will lead a beginner caving trip on Sunday to Clarksville Cave.
• Pre-meeting slacklining next Tuesday (who?).
