Subject: Backpacking Trip this weekend!
Two COC alums (Lindsay Speer, a.k.a. Zay, former president, and Annie
Becker, former advisor) are going on a backpacking trip this weekend
into Sand Lake, just inside the Blue Line of the Adirondacks, south of
McKeever. There's room for 2 other Outing Club members, or more with
additional transportation.
Itinerary:
Friday: Meet at Japes at 3 PM. Drive to Syracuse and pick up
Lindsay. Arrive at trailhead around 6 PM, and hike in to the Gull
Lake Lean-to (3 miles).
Saturday: Hike from Gull Lake to Sand Lake Lean-to. (5.5 miles). If
folks can't make it on Friday but have their own vehicle, they can get
an early start Saturday and meet us at the Gull Lake Lean-to that
morning. Sunday: Hike back out. (7.5 miles)
It's a beginner-level trip, but due to the fact that Annie's just
getting back from a vacation and has work to catch up with, and Zay is
based in Syracuse, we'd prefer folks that have some experience as far
as knowing what gear they should bring. Dinners will be provided;
bring your own breakfast and lunch food (no-cook or just-add-water,
preferably). Gear can be gotten at Thursday's gear night.
If you're interested in going, email Zay linzzay@earthlink.net
P.S. Can someone announce this at the meeting on Tuesday?
