* Beth (bak34) needs suggestions and beta on a ~class II river in the vicinity (1-2 hours) of Boston

* Rima (camljockey@hotmail.com) is updating the bulletin boards in Japes and wants pics of cool COC trips-- bring her watcha got!

* Don will be coordinating a work session soon to fix the Japes toilet... contact him (don@isc.astro.cornell.edu) if you need work session credit!

TRIPS THAT WERE

* Ari, Simeon, Kara, and Rima went caving and hiking in western Mass Saturday and Sunday (and also attended a classic SUOC old-timers' party), and then Monday, Kara and Rima cheered while Ari and Simeon paddled 70 MILES down the Susquehanna River in the General Clinton Canoe Regatta from Cooperstown to Bainbridge! Ari reports that he's never been in so much pain as after 12 hours of paddling... but they think they're glad they did it (ask them in a week or so, when their aches and pains are better)!

* A bunch of people went pre-meeting paddling

* Matt and three others went bird-watching at Arnot Forest, a highly recommended spot!

* Leslie went climbing in the Dacks for four days and had the opportunity to explore a little-known crag near Calamity Brook.

TRIPS THAT WILL BE

* The third not-quite-annual COC "Leisure Triathlon" will be this Sunday! Paddle to Taughannock Park, hike up to the Falls and back, and bike home. Barbequing (onboard) during the paddling leg; more fun ensues after the event. See Ari's message (of 5/31) for more details, or contact him: ate2.

* Beginner caving with Kara (klp37), date TBA, contact her if you're interested in getting underground!

* Matt (matt@clarityconnect.com) will lead a short bird-watching hike pree-meeting next Tuesday (June 6), 6:30 until meeting starts.
