Avalanche safety

Leslie met a gentleman who teaches avalanche safety. This winter, she wants to coordinate something with him in the Adirondacks to learn avalanche safety.

Trips that were

• On Monday, Simeon successfully summited in Alaska. Everyone is safe, more details & slideshow after he returns to civilization.
• This weekend, Jason, Doug, Emilie, Kara went caving at Spring NRO. On Saturday, they went to Pompey's. On Sunday, they caved Mystery Surprise, which is similar to West Virginia/Virginia type caves, and featured slanted limestone & bedrock, tons of fossils, both wet & dry parts, as well as lots of hazards.
• On Wednesday, Brendan, Beth, Scott unicycled on the footbridge.
• Leslie went to Oregon and climbed at Smith & skiied. She also found out about the Pole Pedal Paddle. The race starts with skiing/snowboard down Mt. Bachelor, followed by XC ski, bike, run, paddling legs.
• Jim & Brendan surfed at Hole Brothers.
