1. Lead weekly meetings, or delegate the leadership to another member.
2. Hold a club key, and be available as appropriate to issue gear and do business.
3. Promote trips and work sessions being led. Encourage membership participation in trips and work sessions.
4. Sign contracts for the club. Check the club mail box and respond to notes.
5. Coordinate club business, including elections and introductory meetings in fall and spring. Advertise and attract new members to introductory and other meetings.
6. Role model safe practices, following club policies, participate in trips, work sessions, and leadership. Keep club unity.
7. Oversee the duties of other club officers and chairs, and follow up with them when something needs to be done. Make final decisions when needed.
8. Maintain trip reports and summarize them as deemed necessary for the club and/or other constituents.
9. Orient the successor to these duties.
