60 Mile Road Bike Ride

Hi All,

I'm planning to join a friend on a 60-mile road bike loop south of Ithaca on Saturday Oct 8, 2011, which includes a shorter ride with the http://www.southerntierbicycleclub.org. If you want to come too, let me know; I can swing by and pick you up on the way.

To get to the start at Port Crane at 8am we'll need to leave Japes at 7am. Please RSVP by Friday at 5pm if you're interested and need need me to pick you up...

Windsor to Afton Loop Sam Russo D-C/2/44- Meet at 10:00AM at the Windsor Town Square, intersection of Main St. and Rt 79. Find parking along the street. We will ride east on 17 over Tuscarora Mtn. to Rt 41 at McClure^?, then North on 41 to Afton for lunch. Main Street Deli is open, or a couple of Stop and Shops are available. Return on Rt 7 and Rt 79 to Windsor. One long hill with great downhill, then mostly rolling roads. Windsor is at exit 79 off of Rt 17.

Our plan is to extend the ride is to start at the Fishing pull-off, parking area on 369 just north of Port Crane, right off the Port Crane exit of I-88: g.co/maps/cqger This is approx. 15 miles away from the club's starting point in Windsor at 10 a.m. and involves a long slow climb up over Belden Hill. I like to plan for worst case scenarios and extra time for who-knows- what so I'm guesstimating a start time around 8-8:30 a.m. in Port Crane.
